What styles do you teach on Bass?
We teach all styles: rock, pop, blues, jazz, metal, country, and sacred/worship, on acoustic and electric bass guitars.
How qualified are South Kansas City Music Academy’s Bass instructors?
Our bass teachers have received their education from excellent universities such as the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music, Wichita State, and Missouri State University. Our teachers bring a wealth of teaching and performing experience to their lessons. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and get to know each student on a personal level.
What will I learn in Bass lessons at South Kansas City Music Academy?
Beginner bass students will learn standard music notation (bass clef) and basic grooves to play with popular music. We use a variety of bass method books and encourage students to bring in popular songs they love to work on in their lessons.
Do I have to know how to read music?
No. Beginners are welcome!
Do I need to purchase a bass to learn the instrument?
You can borrow one of ours to use during for your first lesson, then you will need to purchase a bass to practice at home. Not sure what bass to get? Come in for your first lesson to try out several sizes of ours and we’ll help guide you on what to purchase!
Are there student recitals?
Absolutely! Every Spring and Fall, our students have the opportunity to perform on stage for family and friends. Unlike most of our competitors, we do not charge students a fee to perform and admission is free, so you can invite all of your family and friends.

Because we only offer lessons on a month-to-month basis, there are no large upfront payments, no complicated contracts, no annual material or performance fees, and no semester minimums.

Pricing
$30/30 minutes
Lessons are available Mondays and Tuesdays, and scheduled once a week.
A one-time registration fee of $25 is due at time of registration.
