Happy Summertime, SKCMA Families!
I LOVE the summer and am looking forward to the change in pace, weather, and activities it brings. SKCMA operates year-round, so nothing about your lesson schedule will change, but summer is a great time to change up your music practice routine. Do you/your student normally practice in the evenings? If your schedule allows, move it to the mornings for a few weeks and see how you like it. Or use this time to share what you’re learning with others in your life. We had a SKCMA family create their own summer concert series by performing over video chat for grandparents and extended family several times a month.
Summer also brings travel and possibly missing lessons, but we have you covered. Please take full advantage of our make-up lessons by signing up on our website. If you miss two lessons, make a note on the sign-up form that you’d like to take an hour-long make-up lesson and catch up in one session!
If we know with at least 24 hours advance notice, we can also provide virtual lessons for times you’ll be gone but have access to your instrument.
And finally, a huge congratulations to our students who performed at the Spring Recitals. We had 70 students take the stage over four recitals, and we’re so proud of every single one of you! I’m overjoyed to think of how much musical improvement and creativity has taken place in our students since our Fall recitals.
Happy Music Making!
