Student of the Month – Solomon Weldy
Solomon has been taking bass lessons at SKCMA with teacher Nathan Slinkard for 7 months! He is also in the Tuesday Band Workshop this session. Nathan said Solomon is practicing and prepared for his lessons each week. Great job, Solomon! Here’s a little more about him:

School & Grade: Home-schooled, 9th grade

What hobbies besides music? Video games, board games, miniature war games like War Hammer.
Favorite Books? Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit

Band Workshop Updates
Band Workshop Session 1 finished up last month and both bands had fantastic performances! The students picked songs, a band name, and rehearsed weekly to prepare for the shows.
**The Monday Band, Dragon’s Breath, performed Beat It, Sheena Was a Punk Rocker, & 7 Nation Army.
**The Tuesday Band, Our Mutual Friend, performed: The Distance, I Won’t Back Down, Numb, and Riptide.
We’re in week 4 of Session II now!
Our adult students will get their turn in the month of May with our first Adult Band Workshop! All adult students are welcome to join – contact us today, phone or email, to reserve your spot!
Summer Band Workshops start June 2 & 3 for all students! Reserve your spot now and save $15 per student – $150 for the 8 week session. Early registration ends May 13, after that the cost is $165. Any questions about the Band Workshops? Click HERE to sign up or give us a call at (816)419-8526
